The Marae, or meeting ground in Maori, is the center of a settlement and sacred ground, represented here by a more intricate Wharenui. The Tekoteko carvings on the front are neutral, not made to represent any particular Iwi (tribe) so that it could represent a village anywhere during the New Zealand wars. alternatively it could represent the most important building in an Island village in a Dungeons and Dragons or other fantasy setting.
